Vitrovian helping young girls stay in school.

Vitrovian, Unothando Foundation and Twinkle Little Sisters together, the three entities in partnership with DoE (Department of Education) identified the need to assist schools around the Nkangala Region including Bronkhostpruit as aligned with the national agenda, that of providing sanitary towels for needy girls.

This initiative is not just about supplying sanitary towels to young girls, it is about making significant life-changing differences. The sanitary towels do not only enable girls to attend class regularly, the effect is greater in the sense that this improves on the government’s goal of making access to education simpler and eventually ensuring better economic exposure for these young girls.

On average, a girl child has the possibility of losing close to 86 days of schooling through the lack of sanitary towels, thus many resorts’ to utilising “Toilet Rolls” as an alternative measure. This in many cases has left many girls uncomfortable as incidents have let them to be ridiculed by peers and classmates alike in an event of many accidents that comes with utilising such measures.
